Very nice piece, Jenna. Very appropriate to remind us to set aside politics and petty arguments to remember those of our family, friends and neighbors who sacrificed all.
A wonderful piece. I wanted it keep going. You are an old soul, flying over the treetops of time. I can tell so much sweat equity went into it. You done good. If there’s more to this, you’ve got readers.
I apologize, I’m late to the ‘comments’ page. Just had a chance to read your latest essay. Very well done & entertaining on a number of levels. There is a reason our parents are known as “The Greatest Generation.” And, as long as you are willing to use your considerable imagination to research & write wonderful stories like this — the American dream will continue.
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment! It’s never too late; your time is valuable and I try to not to waste yours or anyone else who reads my work.
My Gosh...Was Hollywood that naive to not know their bosses running the Studio's to be among the eugenicist Nazi's in the U.S. funding both sides of WWII? Considering the totalitarian mentality and lack of all morals in the modern Hollywood...It's odd to imagine the old Hollywood with all the progressively exposed secrets being leaked into the public to have ever been as supportive of America as they wish us now to believe.

Thank you for reading and sharing a wise, evergreen quote.

It's an honor to tell these stories. Thank you for reading and, of course, for your support.
Great essay Jenna. I would gladly salute PFC Jenkins if I could.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.”
― George S. Patton Jr.
A great quote. I never tire of Gen. Patton's words.
Such a great post. Thanks.
Thank you for reading and leaving such kind words.
As usual a beautiful story presented in a wonderful manner. My father would be very happy to see this. https://substack.com/home/post/p-41475090
Thank you again, sir.
That was a fascinating history lesson. Thank you.
