Thanks for reading it. Wherever it has been shared there has been a lot of enthusiasm. If you can send it around it would be appreciated. I usually write about art as I am an artist. The bad guys in that world of art are the Zombie Formalists. I coined the term and it stuck. https://martinmugar.blogspot.com/2017/10/the-show-goes-on-schnabel-fils-walter.html
Love that solidarity liked High Noon and Gary Cooper. I am grateful for reaching out to me.
A wonderful article but one glaring mistake led it off in the first sentence. The artist that did "Questionable Companions" was Herman W. Hansen (1854-1924). Never an illustrator but always a strict Western, genre painter. He was also the father of Armin C. Hansen, who chronicled the lives of the workers of Monterey, California fishing industry. A great family of artists.
To Live or Die in Cowboy-Land
Outstanding piece which is why it got my attention in the first place. Thank you.
Jenna this is one of your best posts ever! The comment by the Russian is so spot on...
