There's a common theme here that I wish I could comment generally on the entire blog. In not so many words, I think that the effectiveness with which you describe the passage of time, almost too vividly so that even someone like me can envision it, is relieving.

"Experience can only be a loss of innocence." Good post and good point, Martin. We can never go back to the idyllic innocence of youth, but we can try to keep it for children as long as we can.

I have an almost 1 year old son. I know I can't protect him forever, but maybe I can teach him to arm himself against what he will find "out there," and protect those who cannot protect themselves. Thank you for reading and for your comment. I very much appreciate it.
