The Elites in Washington Want You to Think America Needs Them in Power

If the rally on September 18th proves anything, it’s that insecure, weak leaders will leverage the optics game to inflate their own self-importance. But it’s all an illusion.

The “Justice for J6” rally held on Saturday outside the U.S. Capitol was the most talked about D.C. event since Representative Eric Swalwell’s (D-CA) flatulence snafu on live television – and full of just as much hot air.  But as is often the case in the exaggerated dignity of politicians and the leftist media that do their bidding, the event of the year turned out to be more of an opportunity for the ruling class to embark on an exercise in pompous self-importance than an act of genuine concern for the safety of democracy.

With the House and Senate both out, there were no lawmakers on Capitol Hill and the event drew a far smaller crowd than the 700 people for which organizer Matt Braynard secured a permit. But it didn’t stop an uneven show of force to be put on full display with the mouth-foaming media ready to narrate their hoped-for day of violence. On Wednesday, federal workers reinstalled the tall black security fencing that had been removed in July. Capitol Police said Friday they were working with over 27 agencies from around the region to secure the event. The appearance of armor-clad Capitol Police vastly outnumbered the estimated 300-450 attendees, a sparse crowd that surely disappointed the media and politicians who built-up the event as a predetermined fomentation of violence that only someone like Al Sharpton could conjure up.

"There have been some threats of violence associated with the events for tomorrow. And we have a strong plan in place to ensure that it remains peaceful and that if violence does occur, that we can stop it as quickly as possible," U.S. Capitol Police Chief J. Tom Manger told reporters at a press conference on Friday. "Over the last eight months, the leadership of the U.S. Capitol Police Department has been preparing, working to ensure that we don't have a repeat of January 6.”

For eight months law enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security prepared for a lawful event that drew a smaller crowd than a Gavin Newsom dinner party, based on “unspecified threats” and warning that some individuals involved in or opposed to the rally "may seek to engage in violence."

This extreme show of force is indicative of the impotence of the Biden Administration and the weakening influence of the Democrat Party and its media collaborators. From the border crisis, a tragic Middle East policy, a broken relationship with foreign allies, economic woes, and COVID mismanagement, there are few issues left to for the ruling class to justify their overbearing power. As a result, they have to manufacture their own crisis out of a nonexistent threat to convince the American people they are the only ones standing between chaos and order. But it is all a lie.

As the first few months of the Biden Administration proved to be failing in every promise it made – from solving immigration problems to economic recovery and eradicating COVID - it reverted back to the last optic that seemed to unify support from the elites in both parties: It turned average Americans into domestic terrorists to perpetuate a sense of a nation teetering on the brink of a Trumpian coup. The media, hemorrhaging viewers since the ratings golden-goose President left office, was eager to bring any associated scandal back into full blown, DEFCON-1 hysteria, no matter how baseless. The politicians and chattering class-elites for years tried to convince Americans they were the only ones smart enough to solve the nation’s ills. But the Trump Administration proved otherwise, and many were exposed for the frauds, grifters, and glad handers they were. John Kerry, the esteemed diplomat, former Senator, and Secretary of State under President Obama scoffed at what would become the Abraham Accords. The Lincoln Project, that notorious band of failed advisors and part time (alleged) pedophile enablers, made a hefty profit by linking Trump voters to white-supremacists and terrorists. The only uniting of which President Biden proved capable was unifying the professional politicians and “experts” against average Americans by conjuring up an illusory danger to distract from the repeated disappointments of his administration.

But as time went on, there were fewer indications that those who held the trust of the American people weren’t interested in solving problems, only maintaining their cabal of power and prestige. The ruling class needed a villain to be the hero of its own imagining, and projecting a danger from within through “unspecified threats” from American citizens was an easy way to avoid responsibility for their own abject failures. The experts have been revealed to be nothing more than small-minded people bankrupt of solutions but wealthy in excuses, complaints, and blame. And the gross display of domineering force on September 18th was meant to hide their incompetence behind a wall of riot-gear and barbed-wire.
