Amen, and thank you, Jenna! A happy and blessed Fourth of July to you and yours as well! It's just so encouraging to read this kind of patriotic prose, especially in light of all the great things that President Trump is doing in this country, not to mention the world at large too. I loved this line, "We don’t need signs or pledges, icons, or diversity flags because flying the American flag already means these things." The absolute truth for all of us with no other agenda. I actually lived in the L.A. area in the early 70s and was a big Dodger fan at that time. I had forgotten about this incident with Rick Monday saving the flag and the day.

I retired from being a high school volleyball official as of last fall after 20 years. And like you, I always looked forward to hearing and singing the National Anthem. Sadly, the area where I officiated in DFW has a lot of woke types, and back in 2021, I was working the matches at the very high school from which both of my daughters graduated in 2010 and 2014. On this particular night at this particular school, there was no American flag anywhere, and not even a Texas flag. To top it off, they refused to play the National Anthem. The only time in my 20-year career I saw that level of disrespect. BUT...the team they were playing, the visiting team, spontaneously began the sing the song a capella, and many, if not most, of the people there began to sing as well, including yours truly. I went over to their bench before the match began and thanked them for their courage and patriotism! I get chill bumps even now as I write about it.

God, thank you for blessing America!
